Mr Tomas Madura

Consultant Surgeon

Tomas specialises in the treatment of nerve-related pain, loss of feeling and paralysis.

He is an internationally recognised expert with vast experience in the nerve surgery and microsurgery field with background in laboratory and clinical research. As of 2017 he works as a consultant plastic, hand and peripheral nerve surgeon at the Brachial plexus and peripheral nerve injury service, Birmingham Hand Centre, QE Hospital.

As a part of the NHS practise treats all aspect of surgical disorders of nerves ranging from compression of nerves, brachial plexus and nerve injuries, neuroma and nerve-injury-related pain,, nerve tumours, microsurgical reconstruction of paralysis by transferring muscle from leg to the arm, treatment of chronic loss of movement and feeling after nerve injuries.

He also treats wide range of hand injuries ranging from simple to complex requiring microsurgical reconstruction.

Elaine Juzl

Hand Therapist

Currently a Clinical Specialist in Hand Therapy at BMI Healthcare, Elaine is a highly specialised hand therapist with more than 28 years of experience in hand and wrist therapy. Elaine has been a partner and teacher in NES Hand Therapy Training for 20 years.Her first senior hand therapy post was at Mount Vernon Hospital. She went on to develop specialised skills in hand, wrist and WRULD injuries and disorders at Wellington Hospital Hand Unit and then at BMI Hendon and Droitwich Spa.

Jane Green

Practice Manager

Jane is a graduate of Aston University, where she achieved a BSc (Hons) International Business and Modern Languages, including a year spent studying at Mannheim University in Germany. As she enjoys helping people, Jane then went on to complete her Postgraduate Certificate in Education, and taught German and French in secondary and primary schools for many years, until she took a career break to be at home with her two daughters. In 2017, having developed a keen interest in medical terminology, Jane decided to train as a Medical Secretary, and she achieved a distinction in the AMSPAR examination.

Outside work Jane can be found walking in the countryside taking photographs, attending pop concerts, or riding her motorbike. In June 2019 she took part in the Spire South Bank Hospital charity bicycle ride, which involved cycling from Worcester to Bristol in one day, a distance of 74 miles! Should you have any queries or questions, Jane will always do her best to help you.

Dr Geoff Lovell PhD

Psychologist

Recovering from an injury is not only a physical process; it also involves significant psychological adjustment. Dr. Geoff provides expert psychological support to people facing injuries, aiding them in their journey. Geoff’s approach is practical, understanding, problem-focused, strength-based, and embraces a positive growth mindset.

Geoff is a registered HCPC Psychologist who has dedicated over 30 years to helping people develop psychological skills and resilience to be their best selves. From helping people recover from injury, striving for success at school or work, coping with the challenges of life, to winning Olympic and Paralympic Gold medals.

Geoff has extensive experience in designing, leading, and providing elite sport psychology services supporting Great Britain and Australia Paralympic and Olympic Team successes. Geoff has supported athletes at every Olympic and Paralympic summer games since 1996. Geoff was the 2024 Olympic Psychologist for the very successful Great Britain Rowing that won 3 golds, 2 silvers, and 3 bronze medals at the Paris Olympics. He also has an impressive research track record of over 100 published research journal articles and book chapters which helps inform his practice.

Geoff is very experienced in working within multidisciplinary teams, complementing surgeons and other specialists, to best help people from different backgrounds with various challenges. This includes those recovering from injury, people adjusting to injury or disability, and those managing pain. Geoff also supports elite sport people, people striving to lose weight and live a healthier life, and those who generally just want to do better.
